Ollie O Dykes Post 2027 was founded on the 18th of February 1931 with 28 charter members.
Pvt Ollie O Dykes was born on November 24, 1896, in Ripley, OK. He served with Captain James E Berry at Fort Sill, OK in the 165th Infantry Division. He was killed in Chateau Thierry, France September 12, 1918. His body was shipped back to Stillwater and buried at Fairlawn Cemetery July 12, 1921. He was the first soldier killed in World War I from Payne County.
